Anna Lindh Forum 2013 to take place in Marseille, European Capital of Culture
The 2nd edition of the Anna Lindh Forum, that will take place between the 4th and the 7th of April 2013, will represent the largest civil society gathering since the Arab uprisings, with over 1000 people expected to come to Marseille to share a road map for the promotion of intercultural dialogue and citizenship in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Marseille, 30 May 2012: The President of the Anna Lindh Foundation, André Azoulay, signed today a Memoradum of Understanding with Jean-François Chougnet, Director General of Marseille-Provence 2013, the body in charge of the European Capital of Culture 2013, at the Chamber of Commerce of the city, at the presence of its Vice-president Joseph Perez.
The Forum received the support of the City Council, the Region Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur and the Department of the Bouches-du-Rhône. In this regard the ALF delegation held meetings with representatives of the three local institutions supporting the event, including the President of the Region, Michel Vauzelle and the President of the Department, Jean Noel Guerini. Azoulay was accompanied by Ambassador Serge Telle, in charge of the Union for the Mediterranean at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by the ALF Executive Director, Andreu Claret.
President Azoulay, during the signing ceremony, commented that: “the Anna Lindh Forum will contribute to the European Cultural year bringing to Marseille a Mediterranaean and civil sociey dimension". "The Forum”, said Azoulay, “will be a civil society major gathering for facing the challenges of dialogue, cooperation and citizenship in the Euro-Mediterranean Region".
In addition, President Azoulay delivered a welcome speech at the meeting of the French National Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation. The members of the network were asked to take an active role in the preparation of the Forum, that will represent a central moment in the life of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The previous Forum was held in Barcelona in March 2010 and represented the first civil society gathering of this kind in the EuroMed region. The conclusions of the Barcelona Forum contributed to the development of the new triennial programme of the Anna Lindh Foundation (2012-2014), that focus on the promotion of intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region through a ‘4D’ strategy combining intercultural dialogue, diversity, democracy and development.

Marseille , Capitale de la Culture Européenne, accueille le Forum Anna Lindh 2013
La deuxième Edition du forum Anna Lindh prévue à Marseille les 4-7 Avril 2013 constituera le plus grand rassemblement des organisations de la société civile depuis le soulèvement arabe. Plus de 1000 personnes seront attendu à cet évènement pour partager leurs réflexions et élaborer une feuille de route pour la promotion de la citoyenneté et du dialogue interculturel dans la région Méditerranéenne.
Marseille, 30 Mai 2012 : le président de la fondation Anna Lindh André Azoulay a signé aujourd’hui un Mémorandum d’Entente avec Jean François Chougnet , Directeur General de Marseille Provence 2013,l’organisme en charge de la Capitale Européenne de la Culture 2013,à la chambre de commerce de la ville, en présence du Vice-Président Joseph Perez .
Le Forum a reçu l’appui du Conseil de la ville , de la Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur et du Départent Bouches-du-Rhône. A cet égard, la délégation FAL a eu une série de rencontres avec les représentants de ces trois institutions locales qui vont appuyer l’évènement, notamment le Président de la Région Michelle Vauzelle et le Président du Département Jean Noel Guerrini .
Accompagne par Serge Telle , chargé de l’Union pour la Méditerrané auprès du Ministère Français des Affaires Etrangères et par le Directeur Exécutif de la FAL Andreu Claret, Azoulay a déclaré à l’occasion de la cérémonie de signature que : « le Forum contribuera à l’année Européenne de la Culture en donnant une dimension Méditerranéenne et de société civile à Marseille ».« le Forum constituera le plus grand rassemblement de la société civile susceptible de faire face aux défis du dialogue , de la coopération et de la citoyenneté dans la région euro-méditerranéenne » : a-t-il ajouté.
Par ailleurs , le président de la FAL a prononcé un discours de bienvenue à l’occasion de la tenue de la réunion du Réseau National Français de la Fondation Anna Lindh . Azoulay a exhorté les membres du réseaux à jouer un rôle actif dans les préparatifs du Forum qui constituera un moment central dans la vie de la Fondation Anna Lindh .
Le premier Forum de la FAL s’est tenu à Barcelone en Mars 2010 et a constitué le premier rassemblement du genre de la société civile dans la région Euro Med .Les recommandations du Forum de Barcelone ont contribué au développement du nouveau programme triennal de la Fondation Anna Lindh « 2012-2014 »qui met l’accent sur la promotion du dialogue interculturel dans la région méditerranéenne à travers une stratégie a 4D incluant le dialogue interculturel , la diversité , la démocratie et le développement .
